Timber Gates Ipswich – From Lumberjacks

There are plenty of options when it comes to choosing a gate for your garden or property – and the summer is a good time to do it, as the weather should be dry enough to allow you to carry out the installation work.

But are you looking for something that blends in with the rest of your outdoor space, or do you really want to make a design statement and make it stand out from the rest of your home and the surrounding area?

Lumberjacks supply a variety of high-quality timber gates from our base in Ipswich. Here we outline some of the key types you can choose from.

A Driveway Gate

If your garden’s main point of access is a drive, then the obvious solution is a driveway gate. If it’s quite a wide drive, then our softwood treated PSE 5-bar gate may be suitable (although these are often used in fields).

A Decorative Gate

You may prefer your gate to be more welcoming, easier to open and encouraging visitors into your garden.

In cases like these where you have a pathway leading up to your front door (and the letterbox) it may be preferable to have something like a picket-fence type gate – it’s still a barrier (which may prevent children and pets from getting out) but offers relatively easy access.

Palisade gates Hadleigh supplied by Lumberjacks

At Lumberjacks we stock palisade gates (one of which is pictured above) for customers in Hadleigh, Woodbridge, Stowmarket and across Suffolk. Another option is one of our decorative gates - these work well as side gates, for example if you have a path alongside your home.

A Matching Gate

In other cases, such as if you have a rear garden fence and a right of way beyond that, it may be preferable to opt for an integrated gate which echoes the existing fence panels’ style – such as our any of our closeboard gates which can be found here and here.

Alternatively, of course, you could opt for something subtly different if you want your gate to stand out – as in one of the decorative gates mentioned above – the choice is yours.

A Solid, Secure Gate

In many cases, your prime concern is the safety and security of your property – and making sure that children and pets don’t get out onto the street.

In cases such as these, you are probably looking for a solid gate that you can’t see through. Again, one of our closeboard gates is probably the best option here – it should deter any would-be trespassers or thieves as well as discouraging pets and children from attempting an adventure into the street!

A Bespoke Gate

At Lumberjacks, we recognise that every garden, and every customer, is different. So, it’s quite possible that your ideal garden gate doesn’t fit neatly into any of the categories above – or it needs to be a non-standard measurement because of the unusual nature of the space it needs to fill.

In cases like these, we are happy to design a gate which is custom-built to your own requirements. Just fill in the online form here with all the measurements, an idea of the style, and we’ll get back to you with a price; remember, there’s no obligation to buy once we send over the quotation.
