Sawn Softwood Treated Feather Edge - 2ex 22mm x 125mm (2ex 1" x 5")

Feather Edge is one of the most commonly used materials to clad fencing and is attached to horizontal rails (Cant and Arris Rail). It is available in a number of lengths and widths to accommodate most projects.

When calculating the number of boards required, a 25mm overlap is required. Therefore using 125mm x 22mm 2ex wide feather edge boards you will require 10 boards per metre. It is advised to use feather edge with a 150mm gravel board which will help to support your feather edge whilst protecting them.

During installation the feather edge boards are nailed to your chosen horizontal supports using 50mm galvanised nails. Capping is then installed to complete the process. By doing this you are protecting the end grain of the feather edge timber, whilst adding additional support at the top where the feather edge is least supported, which could lead to twisting.
