Lanscaping products Ipswich - supplied by Lumberjacks

This article looks at five garden projects which are ideal for the spring and summer – ranging from the recreational to the practical.

Most of relevant products are available at Lumberjacks, who can act as a one-stop shop for your gardening needs.

It will take between three and four minutes to read.

Now that spring is officially here – and summer is just around the corner – now is the time to get on with your garden projects. Any DIY and hard landscaping work shouldn’t be affected by wind and rain, and you will be able to enjoy your outdoor space when you really want to. Here are four projects which lend themselves to warmer weather.

Landscaping Products from Lumberjacks in Ipswich

At Lumberjacks, we can act as a one-stop shop when it comes to your garden projects. Whether you are after landscaping materials, garden furniture, new fencing or a gate, you should be able to find what you want in stock.

1: The Upgraded Patio

You can replace tired, cracked slabs with a modern, low-maintenance entertainment area which you can enjoy when the evenings are lighter and brighter. We have a range of new porcelain paving products, including Riva and Avantgarde styles. All come with built-in slip-resistance – so even if there is any summer rain, you should be able to avoid any trips, slips or falls.

All our loose aggregates – including MOT Type 1 and 20mm ballast – are 10% off. This was originally just during the month of April, but which is NOW EXTENDED UNTIL THE END OF MAY due to great customer feedback on this new service. Both of these materials will help when it comes to creating a sub-base for a new patio. And remember you can collect your own loose aggregates from our new display area at our Bramford Road depot, pictured above. (The offer applies to both orders and collections.)

Failing that, you could install some decking in your garden; this isn’t quite such hard work, and you would still be able to enjoy a drink or a meal outdoors. Many of our wooden decking kits have been reduced in price and contain all the screws and fixings you will need, and the kits will save you the headache of calculating quantities.

2: The Vertical Garden

This time of the year represents a good time to think about your garden’s boundaries. Adding new fencing and screens will give you more privacy and also create a backdrop for climbing plants. Our range of fence panels and trellises can be found here.

For additional strength, we would recommend fixing your new fence in with a DuraPost post – these are 80% lighter than concrete, making them much easier to fix in position and quicker to install if you are working on your own.

3: Raised Beds for Homegrown Fruit and Veg

The spring and summer sunshine means it’s also the peak growing season. This doesn’t just mean flowers, shrubs and trees, but fruit and vegetables as well – particularly with many households feeling the pinch. Growing your own will save plenty of pounds on your weekly shop.

At Lumberjacks we have plenty of sleepers and C24 Graded Timber, both of which can form the basis of a raised bed if you haven’t got the space, or the time, or the soil, to create a ground-level vegetable patch.

Remember we have our own timber cutting service at our Bramford Road depot, so we can trim your timber to the exact length you want – and which will fit into even the smallest car.

4: Creating a Work from Home Office – or a Hobby House

A summerhouse or shed doesn’t need to just be somewhere to store your garden tools. Either of these garden buildings can be turned into a she-shed, above, a place for your favourite hobby – such as a games room, or a gym – or they can have a more practical use as well.

The recent Covid-19 pandemic showed that it was possible for many people to work from home, and our garden buildings can easily be transformed into workspaces which can provide a much quieter environment than any room in your main house.

Don’t worry if you have an awkward space in your garden. We have a 3D shed design tool which will help create a building which is perfectly suited to the shape of your garden.

Other Special Offers from Lumberjacks

We have a range of other products currently on special offer. Many of these will allow you to add the finishing touches to your project – such as garden furniture for your patio or decking, signs for your shed, and fire pits which will ensure you can still use your outdoor space, however cold it is during the evening.

Our special offers section can be found here.
